The Alpha Phi Omega (APO) Epsilon Kappa Chapter ran naked around Bulacan State University (BulSU) on December 10 to express their objection regarding violence without justice issues that happen. With the theme “Biktima ng Nakaraan, Katarungan huwag Kalimutan”, the fraternity ran to encourage students to involve themselves to fight for impartiality that sometimes hidden due to abused authority and forgotten over time. A total of 45 APO members participated in the freedom run with their masks and placards on, convincing BulSUans to be more aware of the violence enveloping the country’s biggest tragedy such as the 2009 Maguindanao Massacre. Aside from the non-violence campaign, the APO also supported the refund of Php1,500 Development Fee which collected by the university through the said oblation run. Furthermore, the fraternity ensured that the advocacy of the freedom run will be kept alive and passed on to the new generation as their way of involving in the university and even in the national issues of the country. “ Astig ‘yong way nila para i-shout out ang mga gusto nilang sabihin sa mga kinauukulan at sa masa. ‘Yong pagtakbo nila ng nakahubad, kung mas papalawakin mo ang isip mo, hindi for entertainment ‘yon e, may mas malalim na purpose ‘yon na dapat maintindihan natin,” said Quincy Vinuya, BSeD 3H.
