After the 1993 Pagoda Tragedy, Bocaue Bulacan once more celebrates its historical Pagoda Festival, June 25. With the theme: Balik Saya, Tayo Na… Krus Sa Wawa Sa Pagoda, the festival starts in a procession followed by a mass in a huge pagoda which can carry around 250 people.in the Bocaue River as its tradition. In order to ensure its safety, the construction of the pagoda is almost over a week before the festival and the organizers also insist that those who ride the pagoda wear life vests. The return of this event aims to rebuild the conviction of people on the Holy Cross of Wawa and preserves the culture of the place. After two decades of celebrating the feast only in the St. Martin Parish because of the tragedy, devotees are pleased because of the return of their culture celebrating the event with a pagoda in the river. The festivities also include a nine-day novena, which celebrates the rescue of the Holy Cross of Wawa from the Bocaue River. Also, the committees added new activities like fun run, variety shows, dance contest and many more, starting June 25 to July 6.
